Abstract A growth measuring and recording device for use in connection with a number of children during their growing period. The device includes an elongated member having a lower floor engaging end and a measuring portion extending along a major section of the length of the member which is multi-sided. One side of the elongated member forms a measuring scale numbered upwardly towards an upper end of the member, each of the remaining sides providing recording surfaces for permanently receiving information indicating the growth record of each individual child. A slide, which has an opening receiving the elongated member for sliding movement longitudinal thereof, includes an arm projecting forward from the elongated member with a lower surface engageable with the top of the head of the child being measured. A measuring edge is visually alienable with gradients of the scale and is indicative of the height of the lower surface above the floor. The slide has a plurality of marker edges in the same horizontal plane as the measuring edge, one each of the marker edges being disposed in front of one of the recording surfaces to provide a guide for a marker to draw a line on the one recording surface at the same height as the measuring edge.
