ABSTRACT An electrical connector including a plug and a socket moulded of non-conductive material. The socket has two or three longitudinally extending grooves having conductors therein adapted to be connected to a power source. The plug comprises a body, a cover for the body and an electrical cable passing through the cover for connection to conductors on the body of the plug. The plug is dimensioned to be slid onto the socket from a mid-portion of reduced diameter so that the conductors in the plug extend into the slots in the socket so as to contact the conductors in the socket when the plug is in position on the socket.
