Compounds of formula (I): (see fig. I) [wherein represents a saturated heterocyclic group attached to the bond or grouprepresented by A through a ring carbon atom; R2a, R2b, R2c, R3a, R3b R3C and R3dare hydrogen or various other groups or atoms; and A represents a single bond or an alkylene group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms] are serotonin 2 receptor antagonists and have the ability to inhibit the activity of squalene synthase. They can not only prevent and inhibit the development and progression of arteriosclerosis but can also inhibit thrombosis in arteriosclerotic lesions and can improve hemodynamics.

I) [où représente un groupe hétérocyclique saturé fixé au groupe représenté par A par un atome de carbone du cycle; R2a, R2b, R2c, R3a, R3b R3C et R3d sont des atomes d'hydrogène ou divers autres groupes; et A représente un groupe à liaison simple ou un groupe alcénylène ayant 1 à 6 atomes de carbone; ces composés sont des antagonistes du récepteur de la sérotonine 2 et ont la capacité d'inhiber l'activité de la squalène-synthase. Ils peuvent non seulement prévenir et inhiber l'apparition et la progression de l'artériosclérose, mais ils peuvent également inhiber la thrombose liée aux lésions artérioscléreuses et peuvent améliorer les caractéristiques hémodynamiques.
