- 1 - Abstract The invention provides a dielectric ceramic composition consisting essentially of Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3, PbTiO3, Pb(Zn1/2W1/2)O3 and M(Cu1/3Nb2/3)O3 (wherein M represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ba, Sr and Ca). The mole percentages of the four components are as follows: Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3 45 to 75 mole % PbTiO3 20 to 40 mole % Pb(Zn1/2W1/2)O3 0.5 to 15 mole % M(Cu1/3Nb2/3)O3 1.0 to 10 mole % The dielectric ceramic composition may further contain, as an additive, manganese in an amount of not more than 0.5 mole % in terms of MnO2. The composition possesses a high dielectric constant of not less than 8000 and a low sintering temperature of 900 to 1000 °C.
