A discharge-lamp lighting device is provided which decreases arc jumps, suppresses the fluctuation in brightness of the lamp, and prolongs a life of the lamp, by positively accelerating growth of spots even when an inexpensive, small and highly efficient lamp is used. A discharge-lamp controlling portion (101) sets frequencies of drive-controlling signals (A and B) for drive-controlling a commutator (109) within a predetermined frequency range so that spots formed by arc discharge on electrodes composing a high-pressure discharge lamp grow through a cycle of oxidation-reduction of a metal composing the electrodes, and superimposes a triangular wave signal generated on the basis of the drive-controlling signals onto a current-controlling signal (F) over an entire period of the drive-controlling signals so as to make a peak value of the triangular wave constant, thereby adjusting the waveform of current flowing in the high-pressure discharge lamp.
L'invention concerne un dispositif d'éclairage à lampe à décharge, dans lequel une variation au niveau de la luminance de la lampe est réduite, tandis que la durée de vie de ladite lampe est prolongée, même lorsqu'une petite lampe peu onéreuse à haute efficacité est utilisée, en accélérant la croissance d'un spot de manière positive, permettant ainsi de diminuer le saut de l'arc. Une partie de commande de lampe à décharge (101) permet de régler les fréquences des signaux de commande d'entraînement A et B pour un commutateur (109) à l'intérieur d'une plage, alors qu'un spot se forme sur une électrode, constituant une lampe à décharge en arc à haute pression, et s'accroît par le biais d'un cycle d'oxydation/réduction d'un métal composant l'électrode, et forme la forme d'onde d'un courant traversant la lampe à décharge à haute pression par la superposition d'un signal d'onde triangulaire généré en fonction du signal de commande d'entraînement sur un signal F de commande de courant, pendant la durée entière du signal de commande d'entraînement, de sorte que le niveau maximal du signal d'onde triangulaire devient constant.
