ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A distributed computer system comprising a plurality of digital computers is disclosed. Unique bus means are provided within each digital computer and for interconnecting them into a distributed network. The CPU's of the digital computers are off-loaded by auxiliary seats of intelligence distributed in each computer, including a novel and flexible video display controller. An operating system is disclosed which cooperates with the computers in a manner which enhances distributed computing.
