A light filtering assembly comprises an input section, a filtering section, and an output section. The input section divides the input beam into a plurality of polarized monochromatic beamlets that travel along a corresponding plurality of spatially separated beam paths by means of a polarization converter and a diffraction grating. The polarized monochromatic beamlets comprise a plurality of desired beamlets corresponding to the desired wavelength components of the input beam. The filtering section passes the disered beamlets blocks the unwanted beamlets. The output section combines the desired beamlets so as to form the output beam. Because the beamlets are linearly polarized, the input and output section are able to realize a high throughput efficiency.
L'invention concerne un ensemble de filtrage de la lumière comprenant une zone d'entrée, une zone de filtrage, et une zone de sortie. La zone d'entrée divise le faisceau d'entrée en une pluralité de petits faisceaux polarisés monochromatiques se propageant le long d'une pluralité correspondante de trajectoires de faisceaux spatialement séparées, au moyen d'un convertisseur de polarisation et d'un réseau de diffraction. Ces faisceaux polarisés monochromatiques comportent une pluralité de faisceaux voulus, correspondant aux composants de longueur d'onde souhaitée du faisceau d'entrée. La zone de filtrage laisse passer les faisceaux voulus et bloque les faisceaux indésirables. La zone de sortie combine les faisceaux voulus de manière à former le faisceau de sortie. Etant donné que les faisceaux sont polarisés linéairement, les zones d'entrée et de sortie présentent une grande capacité de débit.
