The thermoforming press is energy-efficient and its cycle speed is unrestrained by the inertia of its components. The thermoforming press has a mold-supporting table suspended on arms to the frame thereof below a forming die assembly. A pair of molds are mounted side by side on the mold-supporting table, along a same plane perpendicular to the central vertical axis of the machine. An actuator is provided for swinging the mold-supporting table along an arcuate pendulum movement extending symmetrically across the central vertical axis; and for alternately aligning and registering one of the molds and then the other mold with the forming die assembly. The kinetic energy required for moving one mold under the die assembly is largely provided by gravity, and is conserved as potential energy that is available for moving the other mold under the die assembly, and vice-versa.
