ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method for assembling a casing for an ear-pad, on an end of a headband, the headband being provided with an opening in the end, and a rivet-like element having widened ends, of greater diameter than the breadth of the opening, and comprising the steps of forcing one widened end of the element through the opening, by motion of the element relative to the headband, forcing at least one resilient disc member over that widened end, by motion of the disc member relative to the element, and passing the same along the element, and into contact with the inside of the headband, forcing that widened end of the element through an opening in the casing by motion of the element relative to the casing, and, forcing at least one further resilient disc member over that widened end, by motion of the disc member relative to the element, whereby the casing is sandwiched between the first disc member and the second disc member, and further discloses a casing assembly for ear-pads of the type wherein two ear- pads are provided at opposite ends of a headband, the headband having openings at each end thereof, and the casings being fastened by rivet-like elements passing through the casings and the openings, and wherein the improvement comprises, widened end portions on each end of the rivet-like element, at least two resilient disc like members fitting snugly around the rivet-like element, on either side of the casing, one of the said disc like members being located between the casing and the headband, and the other disc like member being located between the casing and the inner of the widened ends, and the outer of the wider ends being located exteriorly of the headband.
