An earthing bracket with particular application to a connecting device for telecommunications and data transmission is adapted to be mounted on a hat- type rail acting as a carrier rail. The advantage of the earthing bracket is its ease- of-replacement when used with connecting devices. Various earthing tasks are simplified by use of the earthing bracket. The earthing bracket has spring elements which resiliently latch into the hat-type rail a contact lug bent out from a bottom of the bracket and fastening elements for attaching the bracket to a bottom of the connecting device.
