The present invention relates to an optical recording medium comprising a substrate and a recording layer arranged on one side of the substrate, wherein the optical recording medium has a predetermined clamping area. According to the present invention, the clamping area is formed such as to achieve a deformation of or a tension in at least a part of the optical recording medium when it is clamped within a recording and/or reproducing device. In particular, the deformation or tension is present in an area or in the entire area of the optical recording medium which is located outside of the clamping area. The deformation or tension preferably results in a change of the relative position of the outer edges of the optical recording medium with respect to the clamping area. As a result, the optical recording medium may have a thinner thickness in the area of the recording layer (outside of the clamping area) of - for example - only about 0.6 mm or even less. In particular, the thickness Tj of the optical recording medium in an area outside of the clamping area is in the range between 0.4 to 0.7 mm.
L'invention concerne un support d'enregistrement optique comprenant un substrat et une couche d'enregistrement disposée sur un premier côté du substrat, le support d'enregistrement optique présentant une zone de calage prédéterminée. Selon l'invention, la zone de calage est formée de façon à obtenir une déformation du support d'enregistrement optique ou une pression dans au moins une partie de ce dernier lorsqu'il est calé dans un dispositif enregistreur et/ou lecteur. Plus particulièrement, la déformation ou la pression se produit dans une surface donnée ou dans l'ensemble de la surface du support d'enregistrement optique se situant à l'extérieur de la zone de calage. La déformation ou la pression aboutit, de préférence, à un changement de la position relative des bords extérieurs du support d'enregistrement optique par rapport à la zone de calage. Ainsi, le support d'enregistrement optique peut présenter une épaisseur inférieure dans la zone de la couche d'enregistrement (à l'extérieur de la zone de calage) d'environ seulement 0,6 mm, par exemple, ou même moins. Plus particulièrement, l'épaisseur Tj du support d'enregistrement optique dans une zone extérieure à la zone de calage est comprise entre 0,4 et 0,7 mm.
