An electrochemically disbondable composition (10) is provided having a matrix functionality and an electrolyte functionality. The matrix functionality provides an adhesive bond to a substrate (12, 14), and the electrolyte functionality provides suffi-cient ionic conductivity to the composition to support a faradaic reaction at an interface (16) with an electrically conductive surface in contact with the composition, whereby the adhesive bond is weakened at the interface. The composition may be a phase-separated composition having first regions of substantially matrix functionality and second regions of substantially electrolyte functionality Adhesive and coating compositions and methods of disbonding also are described.

L'invention porte sur une composition (10) décollable électrochimiquement dotée d'une fonction matrice et d'une fonction électrolyte. La fonction matrice permet le collage sur un substrat, (12, 14), tandis que la fonction électrolyte confère à la composition assez de conductivité ionique pour que une réaction se produise dans un interface (16) avec une surface électroconductrice en contact avec la composition une réaction affaiblissant la liaison adhésive au niveau de l'interface. La composition peut être du type à phases séparées, comportant de premières zones à fonction quasi matricielle, et de deuxièmes zones à fonction quasi électrolytique. L'invention porte également sur des compositions adhésives et de revêtement et sur des procédés de décollage associés.
