The invention relates to an electrochemical system, comprising at least one organic substrate, at least one electrical conducting layer and at least one active species, characterised in comprising at least one organic layer arranged between the electrical conducting layer and the substrate, a barrier layer, made from silicon nitride, oxide or oxynitride, or aluminium nitride, oxide or oxynitride, or a mixture of at least two o the above compounds (mixed Al/Si nitrides or oxynitrides), arranged between the layer of varnish and the electrical conducting layer.
