The invention relates to an electrolytic cell (1) intended for production of aluminium including at least one collector bar (6) made of first metal and at least one complementary bar (20, 20') made of a second metal having an electrical conductivity greater than the first metal and arranged adjacent to one of the side faces of the collector bar (6) so that the external end (202, 202') of the complementary bar (20, 20') is at a specified distance A, A' from a specified end face (51, 51') of the block (5). The second end (202, 202') preferably terminates so as to limit heat losses from said cell (1). The invention makes it possible to obtain significantly lower voltage drops than known cells while avoiding excessive heat losses through the collector bars.

La présente invention concerne une pile électrolytique (1) prévue pour la production d'aluminium comprenant au moins une barre collectrice (6) faite d'un premier métal et au moins une barre complémentaire (20, 20') faite d'un second métal présentant une conductivité électrique supérieure à celle du premier métal et disposée de façon adjacente à l'une des faces latérales de la barre collectrice (6) de sorte que l'extrémité externe (202, 202') de la barre complémentaire (20, 20') se trouve à une distance spécifiée A, A' d'une face d'extrémité spécifiée (51, 51') du bloc (5). La seconde extrémité (202, 202') se termine de préférence de façon à limiter les pertes de chaleur de ladite pile (1). L'invention rend possible l'obtention de baisses de tension significativement plus faibles par rapport aux piles connues tout en évitant des pertes de chaleur excessives à travers les barres collectrices.
