The present invention relates to a device and a method for utilizing a control module (1) as an interfaced control of a dually configured AC/DC control coil (3) comprising monitoring a coil voltage of the control coil (3), determining if the coil voltage is greater than a predetermined dropout voltage, and determining if the coil voltage is greater than a predetermined pickup voltage. Further, a generated a stable pulse is reset in the event that the coil voltage is determined to be less than the predetermined dropout voltage.
