ABSTRACT The motor-vehicles emergency equipment described consists of a hollow multi-section rod (1) with, at one end (2), a knife blade (24) and a striker (22). The equipment is designed to be kept in an easily accessible place in the vehicle so that it can be used to free the occupants rapidly in an emergency by cutting the safety belt with the knife blade (24) and, if necessary, breaking the windows with the striker (22). Kept in the same end of the rod are a folded-up accident-reporting form, a folding accident- warning triangle, wax crayons, pens and a small lamp. Kept in other parts of the rod are a roll of measuring tape, a disposable camera and a flashing light. Various special accessories are thus kept in individual sections of the hollow rod for use in an emergency, in particular in the event of a car accident.
