A concentrate herbicidal composition is provided comprising a first herbicide that is anionic, for example the herbicide glyphosate, and a second herbicide that elicits a visible symptom of phytotoxicity in a plant within about 4 days after application to foliage of the plant. The concentrate composition further comprises (a) an alkylether surfactant component consisting of one or more surfactants each having the formula R12-O-(CH2CH2O)n((CHR)20)m R13 wherein R12 is an aliphatic saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbyl group having about 16 to about 22 carbon atoms, n is an average number of about 5 to about 100, m is an average number of 0 to about 5, one R in each -((CHR)2O)- group is hydrogen and the other R is methyl, and R13 is a hydrogen, C1-4 alkyl or C2-4 acyl group; and (b) an amine surfactant component. The weight ratio of the alkylether surfactant component to the amine surfactant component is about 1:10 to about 10:1; and the alkylether and amine surfactant components are present in total in an adjuvant amount of about 0.05 to about 0.5 parts by weight per part by weight of the first herbicide, expressed as acid equivalent. Also provided are a plant treatment composition comprising a first herbicide, a second herbicide, an alkylether surfactant component and an amine surfactant component, all as described above, dissolved or dispersed in water, and a herbicidal method comprising applying such a plant treatment composition to foliage of a plant.

L'invention concerne une composition herbicide concentrée qui comprend un premier herbicide anionique, par exemple le glyphosate herbicide, et un deuxième herbicide qui provoque un symptôme visible de phytotoxicité chez une plante dans les quatre jours environ qui suivent son application au feuillage de la plante. Le rapport pondéral du surfactant à base d'éther d'alkyle et du composant de surfactant aminé est entre environ 1:10 et environ 10:1, les surfactants à base d'éther d'alkyle et aminé étant présents dans une quantité totale d'adjuvant entre environ 0,05 et environ 0,5 parts en poids pour chaque part en poids du premier herbicide exprimé en équivalent acide. L'invention concerne aussi une composition de traitement de plantes comprenant un premier herbicide, un deuxième herbicide, un composant de surfactant à base d'éther d'alkyle et un composant de surfactant aminé décrits ci-dessus, dissous ou dispersés dans l'eau, de même qu'un procédé herbicide qui consiste à appliquer cette composition de traitement de plante au feuillage d'une plante.
