A sizing composition containing an epoxy resin emulsion, one or more coupling agents, a cationic lubricant, and an acid. The epoxy resin emulsion includes a low molecular weight epoxy and one or more surfactants. The epoxy resin has an epoxy equivalent weight of from 175 - 225, preferably from 175 - 190. Optionally, the sizing composition may also contain a non-ionic lubricant, a polyurethane film former, and/or an antistatic agent. The sizing composition may be used to size glass fibers used in filament winding applications to form reinforced composite articles with improved mechanical properties, wet tensile properties, improved resistance to cracking, and improved processing characteristics.
Une composition de collage contient une émulsion de résine époxyde, un ou plusieurs agents de couplage, un lubrifiant cationique et un acide. L'émulsion de résine époxyde comprend un époxyde de faible poids moléculaire et un ou plusieurs surfactants. La résine époxyde a un poids en équivalent époxyde de 175 - 225, de préférence de 175 - 190. La composition de collage peut éventuellement contenir également un lubrifiant non ionique, un formateur de films en polyuréthanne et/ou un agent antistatique. La composition de collage peut être utilisée pour coller des fibres de verre utilisées dans des applications de bobinage de filaments afin de former des articles composites renforcés ayant des propriétés mécaniques et d'allongement à l'état humide améliorées, une meilleure résistance au craquelage et des caractéristiques de traitement améliorées.
