ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Equipment for loading or unloading an exchange platform or a container onto or off a vehicle over the rear of the vehicle. The equipment comprises: a substantially linearly-extending auxiliary frame pivotably mounted on a chassis of the vehicle at an intermediate region of the chassis by a transverse horizontal shaft or an articulated joint, herein referred to as a fourth articulated joint, the joint being located on the chassis of the vehicle substantial- ly forwardly of support rolls which are fitted at the rear of said chassis, and an L-shaped loading frame having a first and a second limb and also having one end of the first limb pivotably attached by a first articulated joint to the auxiliary frame, the free end of said loading frame being provided with grasping means for engaging a grasping member of the exchange platform or the container. The equipment further comprises first cylinder-piston means for pivoting the loading frame in relation to the auxiliary frame, the first cylinder-pistion means having one end fixed to the free end of the auxiliary frame by a second articulated joint and its other end fixed by a third articulated joint to an intermediate region of the first limb of said loading frame. The first articulated joint is located between the second articualted joint and the fourth articulated joint. Second cylinder-piston means are arranged to pivot the auxiliary frame relative to the chassis, the second cylinder- piston means being pivotally connected at one end to the chassis and at the other end to the auxiliary frame. The pivotal connection between the second cylinder-piston means and the auxiliary frame is located in an intermediate region of the loading frame between the second and fourth arti- culated joints.
