The present invention relates to an igniter composition which is capable of being extruded to yield a robust igniter extrudate. The composition is particularly useful in the form of an igniter stick or other selected geometry for use in supplemental safety restraint systems designed for use such as in vehicles, ground or airborne, having such systems. The igniter composition is formulated from constituents comprising a water-soluble or water-swellable binder, at least one oxidizing agent, at least one fuel, and, optionally, fibers.

Cette invention se rapporte à une composition d'agents allumeurs pouvant être extrudés pour produire un extrudat d'allumeur robuste. Cette composition est particulièrement utile sous la forme d'un bâton allumeur ou sous toute autre forme géométrique choisie à utiliser dans des systèmes anticollision de sécurité additionnels conçus pour des véhicules, de terre ou aériens, équipés de tels systèmes. Cette composition d'agents allumeurs est formulée à partir de constituants comprenant un liant soluble dans l'eau ou gonflant à l'eau, au moins un agent oxydant, au moins un combustible et, éventuellement, des fibres.
