FAIRING FOR INERTIAL SEPARATOR Abstract of the Disclosure An inertial separator for an air duct leading to the air intake of a gas turbine engine includes a fairing provided in the passage towards the opening adjacent the intake, the fairing including two parts, a first part form- ing the leading edge of the fairing and a second part which is pivotable relative to the first part and can, in the cruising mode, provide a smooth continuous pressure side surface for the fairing and, in an anti-icing mode, provide a smooth continuous suction side surface. A deflector flap is provided upstream of the opening and the trailing edge of the deflector flap coincides with the leading edge of the fairing such that, in an anti-icing mode, the inertial sepa- ration of the particles will be enhanced.
