A fast disintegrating dosage form of varenicline comprising an effective amount of varenicline or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient, wherein the dosage form disintegrates in a patient's oral cavity in less than three minutes. Also provided are a method for reducing nicotine addiction, aiding in the cessation of, or lessening of tobacco use in a subject by administering to the subject an effective amount of the fast disintegrating dosage form of varenicline or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; a method of treating a disorder or condition by administering an effective amount of the fast disintegrating dosage form of varenicline; and, various methods of manufacturing or forming an immediate dosage form of varenicline.
L'invention concerne une forme posologique à désintégration rapide de varenicline contenant une quantité efficace de varenicline ou d'un sel associé et d'au moins un excipient acceptables pharmaceutiquement, ladite forme posologique se désintégrant dans la cavité buccale d'un patient en moins de trois minutes. Cette invention a aussi pour objet une méthode de diminution de l'accoutumance à la nicotine, d'assistance à l'arrêt ou à la réduction de la prise de tabac chez un sujet, par administration à ce dernier d'une quantité efficace de la forme posologique à désintégration rapide de varenicline ou de sels associés acceptables pharmaceutiquement. Ladite invention a également trait à une méthode de traitement d'un trouble ou d'un état par administration d'une quantité efficace à désintégration rapide de varenicline et à diverses méthodes de conception ou d'élaboration d'une forme posologique instantanée de varenicline.
