ABSTRACT A method is provided for forming a basket-style article carrier from a partially formed carrier in collapsed condition. The carrier includes a first carrier part comprising one side wall of the carrier and its internal partition panels, and a second carrier part comprising an opposite side wall of the carrier and its internal partition panels. The carrier further includes a base panel and a securing strip provided by the base panel associated with the first carrier part. The method comprises moving the partially formed carrier along a feed path in which the first and second carrier parts initially are disposed substantially in the plane of the feed path. The second carrier part is folded across the feed path towards the first carrier part. The base panel together with the securing strip is folded in an opposite direction across the feed path towards the second carrier part. The second carrier is manipulated to move into superposed relationship with the first carrier part so that a space is created between the opposite side wall and its internal partition panels. The securing strip is inserted into the space while the securing strip and the second carrier part are in a raised attitude. The securing strip is then adhered to an inner face of said opposite wall while the complete carrier is in flat collapsed condition.
