ABSTRACT It is known to extrude edible products onto a conveyor for further processing. In this invention, the products are extruded onto a conveyor having a line of successive travelling turntables. The extruded length is cut into sections between successive turntables in a manner, for example obliquely, which allows separation of adjacent sections by rotation of the turntables. Each turntable is then rotated through a defined angle to present a cut end of the section lying on the turntable substantially transversely of the line. The advantage of this arrangement is that it exposes the cut ends of each section to further processing, for example by insertion of a stick into a cut end.
