y-(Hydroxy-2-(fluoroalkylaminocarbonyl)-1-piperazinepentanamide compounds are inhibitors of HIV protease and inhibitors of HIV replication. These compounds are useful in the prevention or treatment of infection by HIV and the treatment of AIDS, either as compounds, pharmaceutically acceptable salts, pharmaceutical composition ingredients, whether or not in combination with other antivirals, immunomodulators, antibiotics or vaccines. Methods of treating AIDS and methods of preventing or treating infection by HIV are also described. These compounds are effective against HIV viral mutants which are resistant to HIV protease inhibitors currently used for treating AIDS and HIV infection.
Les composés gamma (-hydroxy-2-(fluoroalkylaminocarbonyl)-1-pipérazinepentanamide sont des inhibiteurs de la protéase du VIH et des inhibiteurs de la réplication du VIH. Ces composés jouent un rôle utile dans la prévention ou le traitement de l'infection par VIH et le traitement du SIDA, sous forme de composés, de sels pharmaceutiquement acceptables, de compositions pharmaceutiques, utilisés tels quels ou combinés à d'autres antiviraux, immunomodulateurs, antibiotiques ou vaccins. Sont également décrites des méthodes de traitement du SIDA et de prévention ou de traitement de l'infection par le VIH. Les composés selon l'invention sont efficaces contre les mutants viraux qui sont résistant aux inhibiteurs de la protéase du VIH actuellement utilisés dans le traitement du SIDA et de l'infection par le VIH.
