The invention relates to a gas tank (1) for receiving a protective gas in electrical switchgear of power supply. Said gas tank has a non-transparent housing section (2) and a viewing window (6) which occludes a passage (3) in the non-transparent housing section (9) in a gas-tight manner. The aim of the invention is to provide an inexpensive gas tank that reliably seals even at higher temperatures. For this purpose, the viewing window (6) is formed onto the non-transparent housing section (2).
