Les fibres de verre selon l'invention renferment les consti- tuants suivants selon les proportions pondérales ainsi définies : SiO2 : 57 à 70 % ; Al2O3 : 2 à 7 % ; CaO : 5 à 10 % ; MgO : 0 à 4 % ; B2O3 : 0 à 4,5 % ; F : 0,5 a 4 %, ces deux derniers constituants étant incorporés selon des proportions régies par l'inégalité suivante : 3 % ? B2O3 + 1,5 F ? 6,5 %, lesdites fibres renfermant également les oxydes alcalins Na2O et K2O selon des proportions pondérales satisfai- sant l'inégalité : 16 % ? + K2O ? 20 %. L'invention s'applique à la fabrication de matériau destiné à l'isolation thermique et/ou acoustique.
