The invention relates to reinforcing glass yarns whose composition comprises the following components within the limits defined thereafter in percentages by weight: SiO¿2? 58 - 63 %, AL¿2?O¿3? 10 - 16 %, CaO 16 - 23 %, MgO 0.5 3.5 %, Na¿2?O + K¿2?O + Li¿2?O 0 - 2 %, TiO¿2? 1 1.5 %, B¿2?O¿3? 0 1.5 %, Li¿2?O 0 0.4 %, ZnO 0 0.4 %, MnO 0 - 1 %, F 0 0.5 %. The inventive yarns exhibit improved mechanical, acid and high-temperature resistance for the low cost composition thereof. A method and a composition for producing said yarns are also disclosed.

L'invention concerne des fils de verre de renforcement dont la composition comprend les constituants suivants, dans les limites définies ci-après exprimées en pourcentages pondéraux : SiO2 58 à 63%, AL2O3 10 à 16%, CaO 16 à 23%, MgO 0,5 à 3,5%, Na2O + K2O + Li2O 0 à 2%, TiO2 1 à 1,5%, B2O3 0 à 1,5%, Li2O 0 à 0,4%, ZnO 0 à 0,4%, MnO 0 à 1 %, F 0 à 0,5%. Ces fils présentent des propriétés améliorées en termes de résistance mécanique, de résistance en milieu acide, de résistance aux températures élevées pour une composition de faible coût. Elle concerne également un procédé de préparation desdits fils et la composition permettant leur élaboration.
