The Golf Ball Retriever is designed for the purpose of retrieving golf balls from golf course water traps and other inaccessible areas on or off golf courses. The Golf Ball Retriever is a hand operated system which consists of a series of interacting telescopic tubes, a retriever cup, and a flexible activation line. A flexible line extends through the telescopic tubings towards the retriever cup where it is affixed to the outer edge of the cup at one end and the opposite end of the line is available to the operator for activation purposes. As the cup is placed over the golf ball, the flexible line which is hanging loose at the retriever cup is then pulled manually by the operator. As a result, the flexible line becomes rigid and taunt throughout the tubular sections and over the trapped ball in the cup thereby entrapping the ball into the cup. As the operator continues to pull on the line, the flexible line continues to secure the ball into the cup and this creates a tube retraction effect as the tubes are compressed into each other. The operator can then, maneuver the "compacted" tubing components and retriever cup into a desired area where the he can release the line to disengage the ball from the cup.
