An overshoe for converting street shoes into shoes adapted for playing golf. The overshoe has a flexible sole member for contact with and covering at least a portion of the shoe sole. The sole member includes a heel proximate the shoe heel, an instep proximate the shoe instep, and a toe proximate the shoe toe. A first attachment removable attaches the heel to the shoe heel; a second attachment is included for removable attaching the toe to the shoe toe; and a third attachment proximate the instep is included for removable attaching the overshoe to the shoe. A rigid heel insert overlying at least a portion of the upper surface of the heel portion is provided such that the heel insert has a plurality of heel spikes in a predetermined pattern directed piercing the heel. A rigid toe insert overlying at least a portion of the upper surface of the toe has a plurality of toe spikes in a predetermined pattern piercing the overshoe toe.
