A guide ring (11) comprises a graphite body (13) and a mechanically attached insert (14), preferably made of metal. The insert (14) and body (13) form a guide ring (11) supporting a split neck ring (12) used during glass container manufacturing. The graphite body (13) avoids the need for separate lubrication while being sufficiently strong enough to enable mechanical attachment of the insert (14). The combination provides the structural integrity needed to resist damage during glass container manufacturing operation and the thermal properties needed to contact hot glass gobs.

L'invention porte sur une douille de guidage (11) comportant un corps de graphite (13) et un insert (14) de préférence métallique lui étant fixé. L'insert (14) et le corps (13) constituent une douille de guidage (11) servant de support à une bague fendue (12) utilisée pour la fabrication de récipients de verre. Le corps de graphite (13) permet de se passer d'une lubrification séparée tout en étant suffisamment robuste pour supporter la fixation mécanique de l'insert (14). L'ensemble présente la cohésion structurelle requise pour résister aux contraintes de fabrication des récipients de verre et les propriétés thermiques nécessaires pour supporter le contact des paraisons de verre chaud.
