The present invention provides a substantially purified compound having structure (I) wherein R1 to R9 are defined; or a salt of the compound, and provides pharmaceutical compositions comprising a compound of the invention and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The invention also provides methods of reducing or inhibiting mitosis of a cell by contacting the cell with a compound of the invention, which blocks the cell at the G2/M phase of the cell cycle. The invention also provides a method of reducing the severity of a pathology characterized, at least in part, by undesirable proliferation of a population of cells in a subject by administering to the subject a compound of the invention in an amount sufficient to reduce or inhibit proliferation of the population of cells.
La présente invention concerne un composé sensiblement purifié de structure (I), dans laquelle les radicaux de R¿1? à R¿9? sont tels que définis dans le descriptif; ou un sel dudit composé. L'invention concerne également des compositions pharmaceutiques renfermant un composé de l'invention, ainsi qu'un excipient pharmaceutiquement acceptable. L'invention concerne, en outre, des méthodes destinées à réduire ou à inhiber la mitose d'une cellule par mise en contact de ladite cellule avec un composé de l'invention, lequel bloque la division de la cellule en phase G2/M du cycle cellulaire. L'invention concerne enfin une méthode permettant de réduire la gravité d'une pathologie caractérisée, tout du moins en partie, par la prolifération indésirable d'une population de cellules chez un sujet, laquelle méthode consiste à administrer audit sujet un composé de l'invention en dose suffisante pour réduire ou inhiber la prolifération de cette population de cellules.
