A hand crank for a lifting jack having a rotatable actuator is described herein. The hand crank comprises a primary handle, a connector, a connector and a secondary member therebetween having two handle portions extending from a central portion. The connector includes a bracket that has a V-shaped groove to secure the hand crank to the actuator according to one of two alternate positions. When in the first position, the primary handle of the hand crank is generally parallel to the actuator. Conversely, when in the second position, the two handle portions of the secondary member are generally parallel to the actuator. In the first position, the hand crank is operated using the primary handle with the secondary member acting as the lever. In the second position, the two handle portions of the secondary member are used to operate the handle, with the smaller portion therebetween acting as the lever.
