Compounds of formula (I) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and esters thereof are active as inhibitors of hepatitis C virus NS3 protease. Consequently they are potentially useful in the treatment and prevention of hepatitis C virus infection and related conditions. In formula: (I) represents an aromatic or aliphatic carbocyclic ring and (n) is the total number of carbon atoms in the ring and is form 4 to 8.

L'invention concerne des composés représentés par la formule (I) ainsi que leurs sels et esters pharmaceutiquement acceptables, lesquels sont actifs en tant qu'inhibiteurs de la protéase NS3 du virus de l'hépatite C. Par conséquent, ces composés ainsi que leurs sels et esters peuvent être utiles dans le traitement et la prévention d'une infection au virus de l'hépatite C et de maladies associées. Dans la formule: (I) représente un noyau carbocyclique aromatique ou aliphatique et (n) représente le nombre total d'atomes de carbone dans le noyau compris entre 4 et 8; dans la configuration R ou la configuration S.
