The head protection device includes a respirator mask with straps, connectable to a breathable gas source, and a shield (22) for protecting the user's eyes from smoke, with a peripheral seal (26) bearing upon the user's face and the mask. Said mask and shield are discrete and separable. Manually dismantable means for locking the shield onto the mask are engaged said mask to apply said peripheral seal onto the face. This device is particularly useful for technical in-flight personnel on aircraft.

L'équipement de protection de tête comprend un masque respiratoire muni d'un harnais et raccordable à une source de gaz respirable et un écran (22) de protection des yeux contre les fumées, muni d'un joint d'étanchéité périphérique (26) d'appui sur le visage et sur le masque. Le masque et l'écran sont distincts et séparables. Des moyens de verrouillage de l'écran sur le masque, désarmables manuellement, prennent appui sur le masque pour appliquer le joint sur le visage. L'équipement est notamment destiné au personnel naviguant technique des avions.
