A method for preparing an insulating packaging material for a container is disclosed. A first layer of insulating material can be placed around a container, a second layer of heat-shrinkable material can be placed around the first layer and heat can be applied to heat-shrink the layer and conform the label to the contours of the container. The insulating packaging material can retain its hot and cold insulative properties after being heat-shrunk. The insulating packaging material can be used as a label.

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'une matière de conditionnement isolante pour contenant, qui comporte les étapes consistant à: placer une première couche de matière isolante autour du contenant, placer une deuxième couche de matière thermorétractable autour de la première couche et appliquer de la chaleur pour thermorétracter la couche et afin que l'étiquette épouse le profil du contenant. La matière de conditionnement isolante, après thermorétraction, conserve ses propriétés isolantes pour le chaud et le froid et peut être utilisée comme étiquette.
