A heave compensation system to enable the transfer of tubulars between a floating platform and a snubbing jack. The heave compensation system includes a first end connected to the floating platform and a second end in connection with a traveling slip assembly of the snubbing jack, the heave compensation system is operable between a disengaged position and an engaged position. When the heave compensation system is in the disengaged position the traveling slip assembly moves separate and independent from the movement of the floating platform, and when the heave compensation system is in the engaged position the traveling slip assembly is locked in a constant position relative to the floating platform.

L'invention concerne un système de compensation de pilonnement, qui assure le transfert de matériels tubulaires entre une plate-forme flottante et un vérin de freinage. Le système de compensation de pilonnement comprend une première extrémité reliée à la plate-forme flottante et une seconde extrémité munie d'un ensemble à glissement progressif du vérin de freinage, ledit système de compensation de pilonnement pouvant fonctionner entre une position de dégagement et une position de prise. Lorsque le système de compensation de pilonnement se trouve dans la position de dégagement, l'ensemble à glissement progressif se déplace séparément et indépendamment du mouvement de la plate-forme flottante; et lorsque le système de compensation de pilonnement se trouve dans la position de prise, l'ensemble à glissement progressif est verrouillé dans une position fixe relativement à la plate-forme flottante.
