Low-temperature melting lead-free glass compositions are provided which have a bismuth oxide content of 40 - 70 wt.%, a SiO2 content of 24 - 40 wt.% and a low boron content or are free of boron. Enamel compositions made therewith possess high durability properties. Enamel pastes containing frits of the glass compositions are particularly useful in forming colored borders in automotive glass.

Composés de verre sans plomb à basse température de fusion dont la teneur en oxyde de bismuth est de 40 à 70 % en poids et la teneur en SiO2 de 24 à 40 % en poids, et dont la teneur en bore est faible ou nulle. Les composés d'émail fabriqués avec ces composés de verre possèdent des propriétés de durabilité élevée. Les pâtes d'émail contenant des frittes de ces composés de verre sont particulièrement utiles pour créer des bordures colorées dans les glaces de voiture.
