ABSTRACT The high-explosive device has a rear hollow charge 12 with a liner 14 and, axially separated from and ahead of this, a charge with a flat insert 20 that forms a projectile. On approaching a target that is to be engaged, the charges 18 and 12 are initiated in sequence, so that the projectile formed from the insert 20 is effective at the target ahead of the jet that is formed by the liner 14.
