An electromagnetic pickup (10) for stringed musical instruments has at least one bobbin mountable to the instrument beneath the instrument's strings (14), each of the bobbins having a body and a coil wrapped around the body, the body having one or more holes therethrough positioned below the strings. A magnetic device for generating a magnetic field around the bobbins and one or more pole pieces (8) extended through the holes is also included. Ferromagnetic material is positoned within the body of one or more of the bobbins or between the bobbin(s) and the musical instrument to increase the device's inductance.
Un transducteur électromagnétique (10) pour instruments à cordes, comprend au moins une bobine isolante à monter sur l'instrument, au-dessous des cordes (14) de ce dernier, chaque bobine ayant un corps et un enroulement entourant le corps, lequel comporte un ou plusieurs orifices (8) traversants situés au-dessous des cordes. Un dispositif magnétique pour générer un champ magnétique autour des bobines et une ou plusieurs pièces polaires s'étendant dans lesdits orifices sont également prévus. Un matériau ferromagnétique est placé à l'intérieur du corps de la ou des bobines ou entre la ou les bobines et l'instrument de musique de sorte que l'inductance du dispositif soit accrue.
