Abstract of the Disclosure A highly sound insulating clay tile for the construction of floors having an outer substantially parallelepiped shape with symmetrical laterally projecting portions for the support of each tile by the adjacent carrying floor beams made of reinforced concrete. Each tile comprises a peripheral wall of a substantially uniform thickness. From this peripheral wall tends towards the inside a plurality of thin longitudinal vertical septs and horizontal septs of a very reduced lenght, which, in combination with other differently inclined septs and with horizontal septs define therebetween two main longitudinal cavities of a polygonal or circular cross section symmetrically positioned with respect to the vertical center plane, and such that the transversal cross sections of said cavities, taken as a whole, occupy the most part of the area of the cross section of each tile.
