A method and an apparatus for wrapping articles and more particularly a pile of goods on a palette, in a foil hood, comprising the following operations - draw off of a length of a flat tube consisting from a supply, said flat tube consisting of respectively two foil webs, which are folded in an inward direction and accordingly are directly su-perposed in a flat state with an integral foil, opening out the end, which is to the fore in the draw off direction, of the tube, at least partially sealing the length, pulled off the foil supply, essentially athwart the draw off direction at a position remote from the fore-most end of the tube (sealing position), cutting off the tube from the remaining foil supply at a position preceding the sealing position as considered in the draw off direc-tion, drawing the tube over the articles to be wrapped, preferably after preceding reef-ing of the hood or of the tube portion eventually forming it on a reefing means, the flat tube, after final draw off from the supply thereof and prior to sealing being so folded inward from its outer sides in a V-shape that the two foil webs are superposed at the outer side during sealing respectively not directly but with the inclusion therebetween of a V-shaped foil fold whose fold tip extends toward the middle of the foil fold.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif d'emballage d'objets, en particulier de marchandises empilées en palettes, par une bâche en feuille et qui se déroule de la façon suivante : on déroule d'une réserve une longueur d'un manchon plat constitué de deux bandes d'une feuille d'un seul tenant pliées du côté extérieur et ainsi superposées directement et à plat sur toute leur largeur, on ouvre l'extrémité du manchon située à l'avant dans la direction d'extraction, on ferme au moins partiellement la longueur de manchon extraite de la réserve de feuille, sensiblement transversalement par rapport à la direction d'extraction en un emplacement situé à distance de l'extrémité avant du manchon (emplacement de fermeture), on découpe le manchon du reste de la réserve de manchon en un emplacement situé en amont de l'emplacement de fermeture dans la direction d'extraction, on rabat le manchon au-dessus des objets à emballer, de préférence après avoir plissé la bâche ou le tronçon de manchon qui la formera sensiblement sur un dispositif de plissage, le manchon plat étant plié en forme de V après avoir été extrait de sa réserve et avant la fermeture de ses côtés extérieurs, de telle sorte que pendant la fermeture, dans la zone du côté extérieur du manchon et à la hauteur de l'emplacement de fermeture, les deux bandes de feuille ne soient plus superposées directement mais en enfermant un pli de feuille en forme de V dont la pointe s'étend jusqu'au milieu du manchon.
