ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A reinforced convoluted hose construction is provided herein. The hose construction includes an elongate convoluted tube having alter- nating inwardly facing troughs and crests along the length thereof with the troughs being disposed in helical pattern along the length and at least one electrical conductor-reinforcing member disposed in helically coiled relation within the inwardly facing troughs, the electrical conductor- reinforcing member comprising a central conductor and a braided metal, sleeve-like outer conductor disposed concentrically around the central con- ductor with electrical insulation therebetween, the outer conductor having an electrical insulating sleeve disposed therearound. By these means, the expense of providing a two-wire system is avoided, and a reinforced con- voluted polymeric hose construction, which is particularly suited for use with tank or canister-type vacuum cleaners, is provided.
