ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A reinforced flexible outwardly convoluted smooth bore hose con- struction and method of making the same are provided herein. The hose con- struction comprises a thermoplastic inner tube having a smooth cylindrical inside surface defining the smooth bore of the hose construction and rein- forcement disposed in helically coiled relation around and against the tube free of embedment in such tube thereby defining the outwardly convoluted configuration of the hose construction. The reinforcement means consists of a rectangular thermoplastic strip portion having an enlarged, substantially semicircular bead portion in the central portion thereof. The inner tube has a wall thickness which assures flexibility yet the reinforcement enables carrying of a fluid in the hose construction at a substantial differential pressure from ambient pressure. Moreover, the hose construction is of suf- ficiently low cost to enable wide usage.
