A transportation system constituted of moving bodies (40 and 40') which have no power source, but move by obtaining electric power by receiving and rectifying radio waves and to which non-contacting type IC cards (10a and 10a') are respectively attached, an interrogator main body (20) which has an antenna section (21b) for transmitting radio waves and data and communicates data with the cards (10a and 10a'), and a movement controller (30) which controls the moving directions of the moving bodies (40 and 40') in accordance with control signals from the interrogator main body (20). The antenna section (21b) is attached to the responding body section (21a) of a responding section (21) which responds when the section (21) comes into contact with the moving bodies (40 and 40'). The distances between the cards (10a and 10a') attached to the moving bodies (40 and 40') and the antenna section (21b) of the interrogator main body (20) can be remarkably shortened as compared with the conventional example regardless of the shapes and sizes of the moving bodies (40 and 40'). When it is contrived to supply the necessary minimum radio waves to the IC cards (10a and 10a') which make data transfer from the antenna section (21b), the data transfer can be performed efficiently. In addition, a transportation system which is almost free from interference can be obtained.
