ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An ice fishing device for trapping a fish in a hole in the ice includes a pair of coaxial, hollow cylinders, one of which is slidably mounted in the other. Flexible fingers extend inwardly from the outer cylinder through slots in the bottom end of the inner cylinder. The fingers have inwardly curving upper ends, so that downward movement of the inner cylinder into the outer cylinder causes the fingers to move inwardly to define a partial wall or gate, which prevents the escape of a fish from within the inner cylinder.
