ABSTRACT An ice fishing assembly having a body portion which is preferably of a frustro conical configuration and having a rotatable reel with fishing line mounted on the top thereof is provided. The line extends through an aperture in the top and is threaded through a freely moveable signaling device such that when tension is exerted on the line, the signaling member moves upwardly and when slack is present in the line, the signaling member moves downwardly. The device preferably includes a clutch member on the reel to restrict rotatable movement.
