The present invention is directed to the identification of various cellular polypeptides (and their encoding nucleic acids or fragments thereof) which are expressed to a greater degree on the surface of or by one or more types of cancer cell(s) as compared to on the surface of or by one or more types of normal non-cancer cells. Alternatively, such polypeptides are expressed by cells which produce and/or secrete polypeptides having a potentiating or growth-enhancing effect on cancer cells. Again alternatively, such polypeptides may not be overexpressed by tumor cells as compared to normal celles of the same tissue type, but rather may be specifically expressed by both tumor cells and normal cells of only a single or very limited number of tissue types (preferably tissues which are not essential for life, e.g. prostate, etc.).
La présente invention porte sur des compositions servant au diagnostic et au traitement de tumeurs chez des mammifères ainsi que sur des méthodes d'utilisation de ces compositions pour le diagnostic et le traitement susmentionnés.
