ABSTRACT A gasoline powered boat safety ignition system has a start timer (U4,129) that requires the engine room blowers (22,138) to operate for a time prior to allowing engine start up. It has a second timer sequence that permits a hot or warm start shortly after the engine has been shut down without as much of a delay for blower operation as for cold start. Also, the system has a timer that cyclically turns the blowers on for short periods while the engine is operating and has a switch (52,127) for overriding the safety system in case of an emergency.
