Improved modified monoethanolamide compositions are provided which may be represented by formula (I), wherein: R is optionally substituted or unsubstituted, branched or straight chain, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon radical of 3-21 carbon atoms; B is CH3 or -CH2 -CH3; and x is from 1 to 6; wherein the modified monoethanolamide compositions, which are liquid at ambient temperatures or lower, exhibit surfactant properties substantially the same as those exhibited by diethanolamides such as foam stabilization and viscosity building as well as other desirable characteristics.

La présente invention concerne des compositions améliorées à base de monoéthanolamide modifié représentées par la formule générale (I). Dans cette formule générale (I), R est radical hydrocarbure en C3-C21 à chaîne droite ou ramifiée éventuellement substitué ou non substitué, saturé ou insaturé. B est CH3 ou -CH2 - CH3. La variable "x" vaut de 1 à 6. En l'occurrence, ces compositions à base de monoéthanolamide modifié, qui sont liquides à température ambiante, font preuve de propriétés tensioactives sensiblement identiques à celles dont font preuve les diéthanolamides. Les caractéristiques concernées sont essentiellement la stabilisation de la mousse et la construction de la viscosité.
